The Winter Blues Have Arrived!

I'm embracing the long winter months ahead with a delicious wintery blue Brava project. Like most everyone, I have a major crush on any rainbow palette - be it a full-on Crayola extravaganza or a subtle monochromatic transition. I was delighted when we expanded our Brava acrylic worsted palette to include just the perfect hues for my dream crochet blanket.

Chevron Take Two

Our friend Katrina from our sister company Connecting Threads showed off one of her first crochet blankets a month ago - but now she's back with yet another gorgeous gift! In my last post about the Large Stripe Chevron Blanket, I mentioned that I had already moved on to chevron blanket #2. Since then, I completed the blanket with a few improvisations. Rather than sticking with one skein per stripe, I switched it up a little and alternated colors after every three rows. This way, I was able to fit each color in three times rather than just the one.

Staff Gift Guide – Hannah

There are a few tools that perpetually reside in my shopping cart, just one click away from being all mine. And yet there they stay, waiting for that moment when I break down and splurge or someone magically gifts them to me. The long-term resident on my list is a Kromski Harp Loom.

Swish Collection

I've always wanted knitwear that looks stellar in an ancient fort and a modern urban setting. And now we have it. For the love of Single-Ply yarns

I have a great love for single ply. Obviously there are some cons - mostly that it pills more easily and can be splitty to work with. But we have such yummy single-ply yarns that I can't help but love them! Since I've finally put the finishing touches on my favorite Icelandic coat, I've been itching to start another Icelandic style sweater. The natural choice is a single-ply, as that's what Lopi-style yarns are. Before it's all gone, I had to get my hands on some Full Circle Worsted in the most cheerful green - Tomatillo - and get to work!
