I love our new yarn Hawthorne. You probably could tell because I wouldn't shut up about it on our latest podcast. Since I've been using it like crazy in several projects, I thought I'd share some tips & tricks for working with what can be a challenging yarn to some people - hand painted yarn. |

We are so honored to introduce our guest artists, Caden and Natalie Best. As one would expect with such illustrious artisans, the duo proved difficult to reserve. After much negotiation, bartering and outright groveling, we were able to commission their talent for illustrations of yarn lines and our book sale. |

This week's design for our 52 Weeks of Dishcloths is the Neutral Stripes Dishcloth. I was going through my collection of dishcloths at home, and I realized that I tend to first pick a color palette and then do a number of variations using the same colors so that I have a matched set. I already have a ton of bright-bright-bright dishcloths for my kitchen, so for this pattern I wanted something that could alternatively be used as a spa or face cloth in the bathroom. |

It was so fun seeing all the creative yarn glamour shots Knit Picks fans came up with for this contest! Below are the three winners. Thanks to all who participated! This gorgeous shot of a spinning wheel is graced with our Wool of The Andes Roving, hand dyed with Jacquard Acid Dyes. ... but I finally finished it. In the amount of time it takes to make a human, I completed my gloriously grand and lusciously large City Tweed blanket. Big enough cover a queen-sized bed, it's like being wrapped in an electric blanket made of marshmallows. So lush, cozy and soft! |

We're coming to the end of the NFL season, and while I am definitely more of a baseball fan, I do enjoy a lazy Sunday watching some football. And, as of this moment, my two favorite teams are still battling to make it to the SuperBowl (that would be the Seahawks & the Patriots, mainly due to my Seattle & Boston connections). If you're reading this after January 19th, and neither team is in the SuperBowl, just picture me being very sad. Since I have a lot of friends who are also sport fans, I've gotten requests for some knitted/crochet items in team colors so I thought I'd share some of my favorites patterns |
