The leaves aren't changing colors yet, but I can share some of the fall yarn colors with you! I'm particularly excited about our fall yarn colors, I got to help pick them at my first color selection meeting! This seems crazy, but it takes a really long time to plan a yarn line. When we pick new colors, we love customer suggestions and feedback, we look at upcoming trends, and we try to round out colors that are missing in yarn lines. The Knit Picks staff loves a really diverse range of colors. When we opened the box, everyone clamored for their favorite colors! |

It's almost time for fall yarn launch! I know, it's July, and it's too hot to think about a winter sweater right now. So I'll start you off with a lighter weight yarn. Stroll! |

Just a quick heads-up - we now have an interchangeable needle sampler available, the Try It Needle Set. Knit Picks needles come in three materials: nickel plated (great for speed), Harmony wood (more control over your stitches), and Zephyr acrylic (comfortable with a bit of flex). If you haven't yet tried all three materials and are looking to purchase an interchangeable needle set, this set is a great way to compare the tips and see what works best for your knitting style. The set has size 6 Harmony wood tip, a size 7 nickel plated tip, and a size 8 Zephyr acrylic tip, and two 24” cables, along with the end caps and cable key. The sampler also comes with a handout: Kerin also wrote up a stitch pattern for each of the material types - lace for Harmony wood, cables for Zephyr acrylic, and a knit/purl texture pattern for the nickel tips - so you can put your needles through their paces. |

Have you seen the five new additions to the Imagination family? I designed the colors so long ago that I almost forgot what they were! It was like I was seeing them new for the first time when I saw they were now available. I am really happy that they are here now because I think they really help round out the entire yarn line. I wanted to create more opportunities for combining Imagination colors, so I created three new tone-on-tone colorways: Ruby Slippers, Arabian Nights, and Enchanted Forest...Ruby Slippers because it felt like there wasn't enough red represented in the line before, and it could go well with Pirate King, Munchkin, or Gingerbread House...Arabian Nights because I know we have a lot of purple lovers out there (myself included)...Enchanted Forest because, well, I just love dark green, and I wanted a green a bit cooler than Frog Prince. |

When you were a kid, you know how your imagination was able to turn your hand into a T-rex? Or a fierce lion? Or... anything? Or how your dad's old sock could transform magically into a sea monster, just by putting it on your hand? Well, I sure do! Bring that magic to the young'uns in your life with the Critter Mitts kit! |

When Kerin and I were faced with the challenge of designing fun, playful kits for a kid-and cotton-themed catalogue, we decided to imagine ourselves as kids again and figure out what kinds of things we would have wanted knit for us. It wasn't much of a challenge, really. Sweaters??? Bo-ring! Scarves? Suh-NORE!!! The kids in us wanted something that would be really, truly FUN to play with, especially in the warming days of springtime: |

Early samples of Felici hit the office, and now I just want to make some awesome legwarmers to go with my favorite boots. We also have a new sport weight Felici coming out: We were getting the photo samples ready this week and the colorways look fantastic knit up. It doesn't hurt that the yarn is buttery soft and ready for, um, those perfect legwarmers that I want.Felici is still on its ocean voyage, but the yarn is due in the warehouse at the beginning of May. |

Yay I can finally buy some Felici! I've been eagerly awaiting this for several months--back when we first saw the colorways for this yarn, I think every knitter in the office made a mental shopping list. And then we had to wait, and wait, and wait--but finally it's here and I think it looks AMAZING in person. These are my favorite colors of Felici yet! |
