Our soft and warm Alpaca fiber yarn, Alpaca Cloud, is perfect for shawls and light Spring accessories. Match the gorgeous cherry blossoms with Alpaca Cloud in Charlotte, Anna, Algernon, and Bennet. Several years ago, I got to take an amazing trip around the UK and Ireland with my husband and his parents. It was such an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity, I decided I wanted an equally special, one of a kind souvenir to remember it by, so I came up with a plan to knit a trip sweater! And then I did it! The idea was to buy yarn in every city I visited (or as many as possible, at least), and then knit a sweater with stripes of all the yarns I bought. Also, to have the project as my travel knitting throughout the trip–on planes, trains, and backs of cars. So I started my planning by choosing a pattern. I thought ... |

Hi, I’m Erica, and I’m the new marketing coordinator at Knit Picks! I started out here as the book designer working on our pattern collections, and I quickly became a huge fan girl for all things Knit Picks. I am so excited to be moving into this new role and sharing all that’s good about this company with you! (That’s me on the left.) You might be asking yourself: What kind of a knitter is this Erica person anyway? Well, the first thing I should tell you is that I taught myself to knit back in college. I’m ashamed (and a little proud?) to admit that my first big project was … drum roll … the Queen of Hearts Bikini from Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook. |

One of the reasons I love knitting over crochet is the amazing texture that knit stitches have. When using a super chunky yarn, the texture is amplified! That is why I love our Super Tuff Puff yarn. At an astonishing one and a half stitches per inch, project knit up in no time at all. The 100% wool in a single ply with a slight twist, this yarn is perfect for making amazingly chunky home decor and accessories. My favorite chunky yarn “hack” is knitting smaller patterns in chunky ... |
