I am rarely not wearing a scarf. If the weather is chilly, it will be a warm, handknit beauty. If the weather is warm, it will be chiffon, silk or even cotton. Oftentimes something I've found at World Market or Anthropologie. I only have a couple of scarves from Anthropologie because they are a bit spendy. But, I find that I wear those scarves a lot. Scarves have been my signature style for as long as I can remember. I think it has something to do with my being so Irish - read "pale". I've never been fond of the large expanse of pasty white from my forehead down to whatever top I am wearing. I also appreciate how easily a scarf can pull an outfit together. And, expand my wardrobe when I'm traveling. |

When we received the samples of our first Special Reserve yarn – Sugarbunny – I grabbed a ball of Platinum and headed off to Ravelry to find a hat pattern. The Hollywood Boulevard Tam by Alexandra Tinsley is a well-written pattern that I finished in just a day!! Sugarbunny is such a wonderful yarn. So soft and squishy, it makes me just want to squeal. Think about it as ideal for gift knittting. But, I’m keeping my tam for myself! |

Any fan of Elizabeth Zimmermann knows about her love and respect for the humble garter stitch. In Knit One Knit All, Elizabeth's daughter, Meg Swansen, collected 39 patterns that were not published in any of EZ's other books. These were scattered among notes and journals from 1972. |

I invested in a pair of Frye Boots that I have been able to wear quite a lot this "summer" thanks to our unusually chilly weather. I love these boots! I want to wear them every day! I was even inspired to finally shorten a blue jean skirt I have had for years but kept wearing too long. When I wore my boots with my shortened skirt a couple of weeks ago, I decided that I needed boot toppers. |

I am so excited! One of my all time favorite designers, Anna Hrachovec, has a new book out! As many folks know, I've been a fan of Anna Hrachovec's cute creatures for a long time now. And for the past year, she's been doing a weekly post of Tiny Things on her blog....and now there's a whole book of her Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi! |

A couple of weeks ago I posted that I had finally learned how to do 2-strand color work and continental knitting... well I have my first project done! Since I couldn't find a pattern that I was ready to tackle, I decided to create my own! |

This is the baby blanket I started on our road trip to Seattle. As usual, I was a "bit" optimistic thinking I would finish the whole thing over the weekend. One, I forgot how easily I fall asleep riding in a car. Two, I was completely unprepared for a stunningly beautiful day on Saturday. Bob, his son Adam and I walked and walked and walked the city. Then, we went out to dinner with Adam and a couple of his friends. Yummy, yummy Vietnamese food! |

Inspired by Stacey's finishing spree, I had her snap a picture of my recently finished project - the Radian Yoke by Wendy Bernard! As soon as I came across this pattern in the summer issue of Knit Scene, I knew I had to make it right away. The pattern called for a linen blend and immediately, I thought of CotLin. Usually, I am slow and methodical when it comes to picking a project. I will think about a pattern for a week or two, and then if it feels right - I move onto finding the perfect yarn. Finally, I pick out a color, which is always the hardest part. As you can probably tell, this makes my normal timeline for finding a project to starting an actual project quite drawn out. So, when everything fell right into place as I saw the Radian Yoke, I knew I just had to go with it! |

I've been finishing up a lot of stash busting projects! I finished my Pretty Polly by Erica Jackofsky. I was pretty proud of this one, especially since it's the first sweater I've finished on such a small gauge (size 3 needles!). |
