Introducing Snuggle Puff We are so excited to share our latest yarn innovation with you! Snuggle Puff is an amazingly lightweight, huggably soft cotton blend–it really is the perfect yarn for snuggling (hence the name!). It has all that great, next-to-skin softness cotton is known for but without the weight and density of a traditional cotton yarn. It’s a ball of squishy, cuddly goodness, and it comes in ten sweet pastel colors! What makes Snuggle Puff so great is the unique way it’s made. Downy drifts of cotton are blown into nylon mesh, which creates the absolute softest, fluffiest, ... |

Several years ago, I got to take an amazing trip around the UK and Ireland with my husband and his parents. It was such an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity, I decided I wanted an equally special, one of a kind souvenir to remember it by, so I came up with a plan to knit a trip sweater! And then I did it! The idea was to buy yarn in every city I visited (or as many as possible, at least), and then knit a sweater with stripes of all the yarns I bought. Also, to have the project as my travel knitting throughout the trip–on planes, trains, and backs of cars. So I started my planning by choosing a pattern. I thought ... |

City Tweed was my first Knit Picks love - I didn't work here yet and when I got my catalog, I drooled over the brand new City Tweed yarn. Ten years later, I'm still in love. And now it's on sale for the entire month of March! |

Photo credit: www.aranisland.info Knitters in the know are often more than familiar with the classic Aran jumper; big chunky Irish ganseys (or guernseys), traditionally hand-knitted from unbleached wool. Originally worn by working fishermen, they also became popular fashion garments in the US during the “golden” era of Hollywood. Grace Kelly. Steve McQueen. Paul Newman. Marilyn Monroe. Icons in their own right, the stars of the silver screen adopted this classic garment as part of their everyday attire. As such, it’s no wonder the treasured Aran knit sweater continues to be reinvented to this day in the fashion industry. Love a good urban legend? There happens to be one based on the stitches of these namesake sweaters. The story goes that each jumper knit for fishermen in the ... |

We are SO excited to introduce our newest hand painted yarn, Muse! Worsted weight, hand painted, Merino wool, and machine washable; it checks a lot of boxes, both for our resident yarn nerds and from our most common customer requests. Between the multicolor masterpieces of Hand Painted and sophisticated solids-plus of Tonal, there are lots of ways to enjoy this brilliant and incredibly satisfying yarn. Our most dedicated customers will remember a smattering of Special Reserve yarns that we introduced at the end of last year that came from Japan. Although those were the first Japanese yarns that we carried, Muse is actually the realization of our newest fiber partnership and our first exclusive collaboration with a Japanese mill, made to our specifications and designs. We’ve been eagerly anticipating showing ... |
