In the heat of summer, the staff here at Knit Picks have been busy knitting things for babies and kids. Whether it's older patterns in new yarn colorways, or favorite yarns knit up in creative ways, this crop of baby knits made me want to upscale each one, for myself. See what you think! |

Do you have certain "yarn categories"? It never used to get that specific for me but recently it's changed. I used to have a few favorite yarns and use them for everything under the sun. Lately, I've noticed that I like to make specific things with certain yarns: wool is for sweaters, superwash wool is for kids, and acrylic (even in blends) is for toys, pillows, and blankets. Apparently, my colleagues have a similar ethos, because when Mighty Stitch Bulky and Super Bulky hit the office, we wasted no time in making things for around the house that really bring a smile to our faces. Check them out, and see if they bring a smile to yours, as well! |

Oh how I love Swish! Super soft, in a great array of colors, it's my go-to yarn for sweaters. I knit a lot of things for my kids, but I also use Swish just as much for adult size garments. Today is the last day to save 20% on both weights of Swish in our May Monthly Yarn Sale. To celebrate such a great yarn, here's a round-up of things I've made, in Swish! |

We see a lot of projects come through the doors here at Knit Picks. From the samples we have knit for our collections, to staff projects that span all levels of craft, there's nothing like swooning over someone's hard work, appreciating all the hours that went into their creation. It's the projects from customers, however, that often make us gasp with delight. It's fun to see how they used a certain yarn a certain way, and it never ceases to surprise us how creative our customers really are, constantly! Here are 5 amazing projects knit in Knit Picks Yarn. Maybe one of them will inspire you! |

Spring is almost over - can you believe it? Only about a month to go until summer, and I don't know if I'm ready quite yet. The weather in the Northwest has been everything from 50 to 90 degrees already, giving us a sample of what looks to be the hot summer ahead. So to keep spring around for just a bit longer (at least in my mind, and on my needles) I made some sweater for my daughters. Want to see? |

suspect the reason I love making blankets so much is that they are basically grown up dishcloths. You get the ease of a dishcloth pattern (think: no shaping!) but the pizazz the size of a blanket affords. This lovely lace pattern is the free Jazz Age dishcloth from our 52 Weeks of Dishcloths: A Kitchen Spectacular. I named it Queen Jane in honor of my little niece who was born just this week. Her adorable siblings held a coronation to install her as High Queen of the Home. Once the bitty Queen is big enough, she'll claim this blanket as her rightful own! |

It's spring, and our knitting needles are busily working through piles of yarn and mountains of unfinished objects! Now is the time to clear your queue and get ready to change up what's on your needles, just as the weather is shifting from the chill of winter to the first warm promises of spring. Curious about what we've been up to outside of the office? Here's a roundup of our most recent staff projects, including a project in our newest yarn, Paragon! |

I have two daughters, ages 2 and 3, and they increasingly like dressing up. They like very typical things for girls - twirly skirts, soft colors, and sparkles. I don't have time to make them lots of clothes, but for special occasions and holidays, I try to gift them some handmade things to wear. Easter is coming early this year, so I've been busy crafting their outfits. Want to see what they'll be wearing to meet The Bunny? |
