2015 Fair Isle Collection Look Book

Bright pops of color and captivating patterns are hard to resist during the grey days of winter. And Fair Isle is the perfect remedy for us knitters, though it can be a bit intimidating at first! We carefully crafted the 2015 Fair Isle Collection to walk knitters through the fair isle technique with pint-sized projects like the Lavender Sachets. Color Explorsion at Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat in Tacoma, WA.  Hundreds of fiber enthusiasts attended classes in knitting, spinning, weaving, as well as other great subjects. My first class was a 3-hour class, "Learning to Love Intarsia" with Sally Melville. I have been so intimidated with Intarsia.  This class definitely changed my mind! Here's the swatch I created.

It’s back to school time – don’t forget your Geometry!

Well, the days of summer are drawing to a close - it's time to go back to school. My favorite subjects in school were science, art and math - all of which are reflected in my latest collection, Geometric! This is a 6-pattern collection that draws upon ideals from geometry, modern art and architecture. Each pattern features a graphic detail that stands out against otherwise simple knitting.
