We’re delighted to share our latest pattern collection Coloring Outside the Lines, with 5 rainbow-striped patterns, and for this collection, we’re doing something new that’s very close to our hearts. For every eBook purchase for the first two years, we’re donating 50% of the sale to Outside In, a nonprofit providing healthcare and social services, including LGBTQIA+ services, for unhoused youth in Portland, Oregon. “Since 1968, Outside In has transformed thousands of lives by helping to break the cycles of chronic homelessness, poverty, and poor health. Our health clinic and young adult programs ... |

Since the Knit Picks staff have all been at home these past few weeks, we, of course, have been knitting and crocheting up a storm! We all have different reasons for it – first and foremost, it’s something that we obviously love to do, but it also helps us stay connected to each other and to our online community, even if we can’t be out & about. So we thought we’d share some of our projects with you and would love to see what you are working on during this extraordinary time! Of course, we’ve been working on our blocks for #WarmUpTogether! It’s been a lot of fun; for me personally, I’ve been rediscovering my love of crochet! While Warm Up America isn’t able to accept the blocks and other projects at the moment, we’re keeping them all safe until we come back together. |

Update! WUA has made the difficult decision to suspend accepting donations. In the meantime, keep crocheting and knitting those squares and blankets so you’re ready to send them in when they’ve reopened their submissions! With many folks now home bound for the time being, you might find yourself looking for ways to engage creatively with your loved ones in the same position. We, of course, suggest teaching them to knit – and with #WarmUpTogether, they’ll be helping others in need! |

For most of us, there comes a time when we may experience a lull in our project queue, or perhaps a lapse in inspiration. It’s times like these that one may ask themselves, “Who can I knit/crochet for? What can I make?” We’ve included here a list of several amazing charity organizations that would be more than happy to be on the receiving end of your creative efforts, who work to warm the hearts and bodies of those in need. |

Over the last two months, one of the first things I did upon waking up every morning was to eagerly check the Instagram hashtag #craft2giveback. Akin to watching the gift pile under the Christmas tree grow, I tallied with great joy the burgeoning number of handmade projects submitted to our campaign to raise money for the United Nations Refugee Agency. I was absolutely blown away by your generosity. 1,791 projects were submitted to local charities - that's thousands and thousands of hours of love! |

Many of us here are avid bike riders - it's easy to do, living in the Portland OR/Vancouver WA area! Each year, the city of Portland shuts down the 10 (now 11) bridges over the Willamette River for bikes to safely ride across for Providence Bridge Pedal. All proceeds go to health and wellness charities around the area, including a portion to fund concussion and neurocognitive testing, known as ImPact testing. Several of us have done it over past couple of years but this year, we put together the official Knit Picks team of employees and spouses - complete with cute shirts! All of us signed up for the 11 Bridge course, so this photo was after we rode between 30-35 miles in the hot sun and we're all a little giddy and sweaty! We had a great time, even with some course issues. |

We're focusing on charity crafting this month, with the release of our new book Helping Hands: Made With Love, Given With Heart. You can buy the book (on sale for just $5.99!), or download the ebook for free! It contains six patterns in both knit and crochet, that are perfect for donating to a charity who could really use your help. In the book, we highlight some worthy campaigns, one of them being Knots of Love. We wanted to learn a bit more about them, so we asked Christine, from the organization, to answer some questions. Click through to read all about it! |
