I have a new yarn love and it is Andes del Campo.
It’s probably rather silly since it’s not a new yarn at all. And I had played with it a bit when it first came out & thought it was lovely. But I hadn’t used it in a project until recently & now I’m head over heels.
Oh goodness, my holiday knitting queue just keeps getting larger! I spend a
little bit of time every day trawling Ravelry and our library here for
good patterns to knit (or crochet now!) up for everyone on my list and I
thought I’d share a few of my favorites today.
The Five-Way Cable Shrug is designed by Lily Chin. It is a free pattern!! (it’s also available in her gorgeous book Power Cables.) It is a simple design that is made stunning and practical by strategically placed buttons and crocheted loops. This so completely appeals to my love of useful knit projects.
Yes! Now stay with me and you will appreciate my logic.
Hot water bottle covers are small, portable knitting projects. Not heavy in your lap and easy to tote around while you are on vacation or just heading out for a picnic.
You can use up bits of yarn from projects you knit last fall and winter.
There are tons of fun designs – knitting and felting.
And, they make phenomenal gifts! Just be sure to include a bottle with the cover.
You can buy the bottles in the first aid section of your local pharmacy or even on Amazon!
