Welcome to our last installment of Toy Extras, where we’ve taken free knit and crochet patterns from our site and added them to the adorable toys in our new books “Cute, Cuter, Cutest: Toys to Love in 3 Sizes“. Today we’re highlighting some cold weather accessories for the cutest crochet giraffe ever!
First of all, I excel in procrastination – the mountains that I need to climb are huge and overwhelming! I thought by sharing my woes, you might encourage me to kick it in gear!
One of the more confusing parts of sleeves-inward shrugs is the
shoulders. The obvious choice is to eliminate shaping, having the
sleeves perpendicular to the body. I don’t find that that shape fits me
well, so despite the fact that this is lace, I decided to do short
rows.
Aloft, our beloved Kid Mohair and Silk yarn, creates a beautiful, sheer fabric when knit solo, but Aloft is also known for playing well with others! Pairing up Aloft with another denser yarn creates an opaque fabric with a Mohair halo and the strength of silk. It looks so good with so many other yarns, that it can be challenging to choose one, so we’ve put together six swatches with Aloft and other styles of yarn to show just how versatile it can be!
