    I knitted the first one and oh my gosh it is huge. I have left over yarn and was shooting for the medium. I knitted to the measurements but after washing the new measurements are larger. The back is 32″ and the front panels are 36.5″ long. And the width of the piece is 48″. I do know i had issues with getting the gauge. I ended up using the 9 to get the 17 stitches for 4″ but the rows ended up being 19 instead of 26. I am still relatively new at this and wonder if you have suggestions before I start the second one.

    Would love to knit this poncho for a friend, but she’s allergic to wool. Any yarn suggestions to replace the Wool of the Andes Tweed? or any kits that aren’t wool yarn?

      Hi Susan – we’d suggest something like Brava, though it won’t be tweed. Comfy might work too, but we’d suggest swatching to make sure!

    Knit Picks indicates there are 3 sizes yet when I added the yarn kit to the shopping cart it didn’t as for the size. The person I will be making this for indicates to go with the 45. How do I know for sure I will have enough yarn?

      Hi Kelly – the yarn included will cover all 3 sizes, with a little leftover for the smaller sizes.
