I've been knitting much longer than I have been crocheting and when I started out, I was facinated by crochet cables - I never knew you could cable in crochet. Cables are one of my favorite looks to any project so I am pretty excited that I now have small project to test my crochet skills - Beth Major's Cabled Spa Cloth! |

One of the things I love about our new pattern collection, Northwoods (and there are so many things), is how sophisticated and polished all the project are, while still being down-to-earth. They're all just so wearable, you know? And the cable stitches add a lot of interest without being overwhelming to knit. Today, I'm highlighting a couple of my favorite patterns from the collection, with some exclusive images from the photo shoot that I couldn't fit into the book. |

Well, the autumnal equinox was last week and I could feel its effects right away. It was like the earth just decided to skip any transitional weather and cut to the chase. But that's ok with me, because I love fall! I'm ready for snuggling under layers of blankets, resting on a cloud of lovely pillows, and putting down rugs to warm my feet from the hardwood floors in my apartment. Luckily our newest pattern collection, Creature Comforts, is all about warmth and coziness. |

I'm so glad that I finally get to talk about one of my favorite collections to date - Worsted Basics! I love working with worsted yarn and it's a delight to be able to find a whole collection of projects in the same weight in one place. The projects are fantastic which made it easy to take some gorgeous photos of them on location at a house in the lovely Forest Park area. I love those deep, dark woods and we were able to take advantage of lovely scenery between rain showers by ducking into the cute house for a few projects. |

It's a rare day when the weather manages to cooperate and we're able to do a photo shoot outside without some sort of cover here in Portland and I'm always delighted when I can book a model and schedule time with our photographer with a clear forecast on the horizon. I keep a running catalog of "this would be so great to shoot the next time we have some nice weather" places around Portland and this time Mississippi Ave. in NE Portland had it's turn as our location of choice for the Bulky 2013 pattern collection. |

Comments are now closed - Stay tuned for the winners! Fall has always been my favorite time of year - even when I was young, I was always excited when September rolled around: the weather starts getting cooler, the leaves begin to turn, and hot apple cider and various pumpkin flavored items begin to appear in shops. (How much do I love fall? Well this guy pretty much sums up my excitement) |
