What We’re Getting at the Summer Yarn Sale

The Summer Yarn Sale is in full swing, and even we can’t resists picking up yarn at a great price! Here’s what some of our team members are adding to their stashes.

I am stocking up on Summer Yarn Sale deals for my holiday gifting. I grabbed some Dishie Twist Kenai and Conch to make some dish towels. I always make new hats for my nephews too so I grabbed Estuary Heather in Swish Bulky and Lake Front in Chroma Twist Bulky. I have a few baby blankets in my queue too, so I stocked up on all of the colors of Brava Speckle, you can’t beat that price!

I set a goal for myself this year to not buy any new yarn unless it was the finish another project with stash yarn, but I’ve been waiting for the Summer Yarn Sale to pick up some Aloft in the Taragon colorway. I bought Green Tea Heather Wool of the Andes during The Big Sale last fall, and later, I realized I wanted to knit it into a cardigan with mohair held double. Taragon Aloft was the obvious choice, and I think those two shades of green are going to look great together.

But despite my goal, I ended up throwing in a few skeins of Shine Sport in Grapefruit to knit Look at My Holes by James N Watts. A good deal on yarn is too hard to resist, and I’ve been loving knitting with plant fibers this summer, which I don’t have a lot of in my stash.  If I knit it ASAP, it doesn’t count, right?

I have fully been convinced by Alena on the team to give High Desert a try! I’ll be making a beanie out of Juniper Berry in Worsted Weight and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I’ll also be getting some Swish DK! I’ll be using Throne as ribbing for a new project made out of the Swish Pops in Bubblegum Pop. And it wouldn’t be an Isabel yarn haul without more pink Palette! I’ll be getting Conch, Blossom Heather, Lipstick, Fuchsia, and Oyster Heather to make a little Lesbian Pride flag bunting!! I’m very excited for all my pink knits this summer 🙂

I try my best to make sure I have enough yarn before I start a project, I really do. But when I picked up Ventisca Slipover after a break, I made the realization that I was short 1 hank of Twill Voyage Heather. Summer Yarn Sale to the rescue! While I was at it, I though maybe I should pick up some High Desert Sport in Mustang Heather for a sweater this fall – the price is so good! And you know, I always need sock yarn, and you can’t beat a pair of Felici socks for less than $6 – I just had to get Arcade Afternoon.

We’ll also not discuss that I needed the our 20th Anniversary Needle Set since I missed out the first time. No, let’s not discuss that at all.
