KP Collections giveaway!

So, how do you like our lovely KP collections?

collections

It has been so exciting working on these – I spent 10 years working in a bookstore and I still have a great love of flipping through books. I personally think ours are just so beautiful – the designs, the photography, the layout – everything about them just makes me so proud to be a part of them.

It has been fun coming up with the ideas for new books and seeing all the wonderful projects we receive from the designers, as well as the fantastic ideas that Kerin comes up with for her own books.

So which is your favorite?

We want to know – and we have a great giveaway for you too!  Check out all of our collections here and tell us which one is your favorite (whether you own it or not).  On Monday September 30, I’ll choose one grand prize winner – who will win 5 titles of any of the KP Collections books (their choice!).  I’ll also choose 3 runners up, each of which who will one 1 copy of any of our KP Collections.  Good Luck all!

Rules: One entry per person. Must have a US or Canada mailing address. No purchase necessary. All comments must be posted on THIS blog post. Comments on other blog posts or on social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, G+, Ravelry, etc.) will not be valid for this contest. We will close the comments at 7am PST September 30 and randomly select the winners then!

As a note, don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up right away – because of not-very-nice spammers that slip through our filters, we need to approve each comment.  So there might be delay, especially over the weekend – but don’t worry, we’ll get your entry!

Giveaway is now over – we’ll announce the winners soon!

I really love Capra and Reclaimed!

  20. Diane / September 29, 2013

Ballerinas In Pink would be at the top of the list if I have to have only one favorite. If you change that to which are your favorites, then First Light and Sunset Over the Cascades are both running a VERY close second.

  21. Bernadine Richey / September 29, 2013

Beautiful collections…so hard to pick a favorite! right now the first autumn breeze is finally here and I think I need a capra cardigan from the Capra collection!

  22. Linda Fristedt / September 29, 2013

I very much admire the First Light book and see several patterns that tempt me. Thank you for the opportunity to win books!

  23. rochelle / September 29, 2013

I agree too! I love the idea of opening a book and checking out patterns and creating the “story” of the piece in my head. I have never owned any KP collection books….just perused a ton of them 😉 Personal favorites are in the Capra collection. I definitely am eyeing a purchase of that lovely sea green shawl! 🙂

  24. Sharon Sheehan / September 29, 2013

My absolute favorite is “Illuminated Lines” My next two favorites are “Rocky Shore” & “American Prairie.” I also liked “Wool of the Andes” and “Uptown Chic.” Unfortunately, when selecting “High Desert Collection,” I get “Tumble Weed Vest” instead, so I don’t know what that collection looks like.

  25. Kiti / September 29, 2013

I like some designs in each, but I really like the sweater on the cover of Capra.

    • Adele Higgins / September 30, 2013

  31. Diana Schooling / September 29, 2013

I love the Capra collection, especially the cardigan on the front. I have a slightly shorter neck than most, so the lower profile neckline is hard to find and perfect for me.

  32. Carla Kipen / September 29, 2013

In Tune, although I also really like Reclaimed and Capra. But the In Tune patterns are very original yet wearable and not weird. Looks like some of them use rather challenging cables, but the end result would be worth the trouble.

  33. Emily / September 29, 2013

    Illuminated Lines is beautiful!

  34. shelly weis / September 29, 2013

  60. Lil Hasz / September 29, 2013

I have spent too much time looking at the different patterns because I can not decide which one I like the best. But, I did knit the Chickadee Pullover and was not thrilled with this sweater. It fits nice and even looks nice. But, just a little too boring. This is not going to stop me from trying many, many other patterns. Keep up the postings, love them.

  61. Karen / September 29, 2013

(Sigh) All of the collections designs are so gorgeous! I have to say, though, that when I look at the cover of “Hearth & Home” I’m tempted to curl up in that fronds afghan on a chilly autumn afternoon and read the mystery-romance-chicklit book that someone left just for me.

  149. Donna Oland / September 27, 2013

It’s a hard choice between reclaimed ans Hearth & Home.

I can’t decide on just one.

  154. Essie Bruell / September 27, 2013

I’m so glad I took the opportunity to browse all the books. Some slipped by me when they were first released, and I found many patterns that piqued my interest. I had some ambivalence related to my choice, because In Tune and 20th Century Graphic both have amazing patterns. My final choice is 20th Century Graphic, with its modern silhouettes and wonderful color treatments. Ann Weaver has some unique color expressions that I love.

  155. Helene Willson / September 27, 2013

My favorite is Hearth and Home Collection by Kerin Dimeler Laurence. I love all of her designs.

It’s so hard to choose. I LOVE the cover sweater on, Reclaimed, then there are all the gorgeous cables in, Rocky Shores, but the dandelion runner in, Hearth and Home…

Too bad we can’t do a “create your own ebook” where you choose your favorite patterns for a mix and match collection *^.^*

Love the Reclaimed collection. The Cable Embrace Cardigan is GORGEOUS!

  201. Lynda / September 27, 2013

They are all so beautiful -but the celtic cables have to be my favourite – hard for me as my hands go numb easily (due to MS), but so gratifying when I have finished.

  202. Lisa Patrick / September 27, 2013

  208. Michelle / September 27, 2013

My goal is to get a sweater and socks done in the next year. American Prairie has both, and a lovely winter shawl. Capra has three sweaters I could see me wearing, and one I already have the yarn for.

Reading the comments it was hard to decide!
    Thanks for a great give-away!

  209. Carol / September 27, 2013

Could I trade lives with Kerin? The cover of Hearth and Home is so fresh. The inside collection is noteworthy also. Enjoy many of her designs. Several patterns in First Spring Light 2013 have I lusted after. Ahh!

I am in LOVE with the Wool of the Andes Pattern Collection. As a college kid, it’s hard to find time to knit, but harder to find money to shop. Knitting is much cheaper 🙂

  479. Krksta / September 26, 2013

  498. Holly / September 26, 2013

I started knitting 18 months ago and challenge myself with every new project. The booklet, Modern Sophisticate, is my favorite. I’ve been wanting to knit a simple garment. I like the looks of the pullover and the cardigan.

  500. Barb Pampel / September 26, 2013

Capra is a winner in my book. I love the texture that the Dianthe sweater offers in the larger sizes, which I don’t think will add a lot of girth to the body. Well designed.

  501. Loretta / September 26, 2013

I have to say Capra. (At least right now.The more I look the more favorites I find.) Beautiful!

  502. Catrina / September 26, 2013

  508. Tony / September 26, 2013

There are a lot of great patterns, but my favorite would have to be Cryptozoology – my son would love them!

  509. Melissa Szelistowski / September 26, 2013

I love the colors and fair isle patterns of the “Classic Color” collection, but I have to say that the “Reclaimed” collection is my favorite (today at least!). The combination of some really wearable items with unique details is what makes it a great collection.

  510. Deborah Castelli / September 26, 2013

Wow! Gorgeous designs….and with stunning yarns. Perfect combination! I have 5 close knitting friends that I’d love to share these books with.

My favourite is “Hearth & Home”.

  515. Karen / September 26, 2013

It’s hard to pick a favourite. I think the top contenders are City Tweed, Capra and Reclaimed.

I have yet to make a sweater but would like to try one or more of the lovely sweaters and dresses in any of those books.

  516. Bev Slayden / September 26, 2013

I recently returned to the “art” of knitting, and am amazed to see all the beautiful projects and collections in the books. I love the challenge of new patterns and enjoy seeing the finished items!

  517. Darlene Horning / September 26, 2013

I’ve really been intrigued by the collections and would love to try one or more. L

  519. Michelle Gregerson / September 26, 2013

  520. Diane Buganski / September 26, 2013

I spend my money on yarn, and never buy books because I want YARN. This would give me a great way to get some knitting books that have great patterns and ideas!

  521. CharlotB / September 26, 2013

Reversible Basics is my overall favorite.

  522. Amanda / September 26, 2013

My favorite is the City Tweed 2013 collection. I had a hard time choosing though.

  523. Beth Signor / September 26, 2013

I just got the City Tweed book a few days ago and can’t wait to do the Cabled Faux Argyle Cardi. I also have my eye on the Hearth & Home Pattern Collection — the botanical designs are classics.

  524. kim / September 26, 2013

i would love to win the hearth and home collection reclaimed is intreging too

  525. Alicia / September 26, 2013

For me, the perfect introduction to knitting my first sweater would be ‘Light Basics’. Not too involved and thinner fabrics ( I get warm so easily) make it less intimidating and more comfortable.

  526. Bea / September 26, 2013

I love the new tweed collection!

  527. Pearl / September 26, 2013

I want Capra ! I have so many books from your sales, tempted to purchase more.

  528. Dawn H / September 26, 2013

Why Cryptozoology, of course. Who doesn’t want to knit a Kracken and a El Chupacabra?

  529. Bethany / September 26, 2013

City Tweed! My absolute favorite is the Cabled Faux Argyle Cardigan… Beautiful! 🙂

  530. Cheryl / September 26, 2013

Love to read all kinds of books but the leaf/fern afghan on the Heart and Home book looks awesome! Perfect to make!

  531. Sherry Walls / September 26, 2013

  532. Pam / September 26, 2013

Love, Love Love the new, fresh, yet traditional takes in a lot of the patterns and books offered by Knit Picks, Keep them coming.

      Love the ‘Reclaimed’ book.

Island really evokes the Pacific Northwest – my favorite part of the country.

  542. Jennifer Frodge / September 26, 2013

While they are accentuated all beautiful and each has its own merit, I absolutely adore the Capra. Swooooooon!

  543. Stacey D / September 26, 2013

Cool! I’m enamored by the Classic Color collection right now. But I love so many of the designs, it’s hard to pick! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  544. Connie Hendricks / September 26, 2013

Hard to make up my mind but I think I’m going to say my 1st choice is Reclaimed Fall 2013 & the really close 2nd is the Hearth & Home Collection. All of them look so beautiful.

  545. Glenna Dean / September 26, 2013

Can’t wait to try them all!

  546. Karen / September 26, 2013

Sunset over the Cascades and Modern Sophisticate are the two that i like and I can’t decide which one I like like best!

  547. Gina / September 26, 2013

I don’t even know where to begin to pick a favorite collection. There are at least 2 patterns from each collection I would love to make. Your designers offer classic yet modern/stylish designs in techniques that any knitter/crocheter could tackle successfully, including double knits as seen in the Hearth and Home Collection. Since I need to narrow it down to one, I choose City Tweed. I love all of the designs in that collection for their classic style and luscious yarns.

  548. Penny Reese / September 26, 2013

I have Study Hall Knits and First Light everything in them is great. Now I must have Illuminated Lines. The symmetry of the colorwork is incredible. Knit Picks is my go-to yarn for color, quality and economy.

  549. Diane Clark / September 26, 2013

I love Hearth and Home – especially the fern blanket!

  550. Olga / September 26, 2013

I love the simplicity, clean lines and wearability of the Light basics collection. But really so many awesome patterns.

  551. Cherie Counter / September 26, 2013

The Wool of the Andes is my choice.

  552. Alice Pieper / September 26, 2013

I love the Windswept the best, although Serenity comes in a close second. I want to make almost every garment in the Windswept booklet. The skirt alone is worth getting Windswept.

  553. cheryl cameron / September 26, 2013

I love them all! Reclaimed, and Uptown Chic are fav’s for sure. Its hard to pick between so many great collections……

  554. Chelsie / September 26, 2013

    I love Rocky Shores!

  555. Brenda / September 26, 2013

I love all of them but I’d have to say Illuminated Lines is tops on my wish list right now – working on learning to do cables (and read charts) and one day want to get into colorwork.

  556. gloria wyatt / September 26, 2013

Haven’t tried it yet, but love to work with cashmere!v

  557. Juli / September 26, 2013

    I love First Light!

  559. Rachel / September 26, 2013

I personally own First Light, and look through it frequently as motivation to finish up my UFOs so I can give the patterns the attention they deserve. I love the classic look of all the patterns. Simply timeless!

  560. Laurence / September 26, 2013

It’s a very difficult choice but I’d go wit Light Basics. The finishing on these look like they could last a lifetime and more!

  561. Lauren / September 26, 2013

I think 20th Century Graphic is the most interesting book to me right now. It looks like a great way to feature small skeins of handspun in a garment with millspun yarn.

  562. Eileen Flynn / September 26, 2013

I love first light or the cashmere book.

  563. Kathryn / September 26, 2013

I like them all but really like the hearth and home, such lovely leaves.

  564. Kat / September 26, 2013

Oh my gosh….I have to choose just one?! Hmmmm….well, I like the Capra Collection, the Cryptozoology looks like so much fun, and I REALLY like the Illuminated Lines (although the patterns look so complicated, it’s a bit daunting), but I love the Hearth and Home! Those are patterns I would love to fill my home (and my friends and families homes) with! Knit Picks has so many awesome patterns, it gives me a headache trying to choose! ; )

  574. Penni / September 26, 2013

I love ALL of them!! But I think the Reclaimed and Capra are neck in neck in the race to !st!!! Thanks for the chance to get the books!!

  575. Katie Porter / September 26, 2013

It’s really hard to pick a favorite! I love the Winsome collection, the Geometric collection, the Dandelion pillows in Hearth and Home, and the Serenity Crochet. I love them all.

  576. Michelle / September 26, 2013

Knit to Flatter! Who couldn’t use that?

  577. Kimberly / September 26, 2013

I love the Reclaimed collection. The lines are funky and fun, but still very wearable!

I like Northern Lights. I’m kinda obsessed with stranded knitting right now.

  598. Olivia Nuckols / September 26, 2013

I live and work on a family dairy farm . Most days are spent in Jeans and Ts…So when I do go out I like to dress up in my hand knits. I prefer those to be feminine and romantic or classic arans and cables….First Light, Rocky Shores and Illuminated Lines are my kind of stuff…I love your yarb selection and patterns. Wish you had more selection in your lace weights and the Bare selections in cones…

  599. Cindy Farmer / September 26, 2013

I LOVE the Hearth and Home book. There is nothing in there I wouldn’t make.

  602. Melinda / September 26, 2013

It’s so hard to choose just one, they’re all gorgeous!
