In honor of KP Crochet’s launch, the Knit Picks staff is taking this week to focus on all our favorite, hook-tastic products and projects. Having fallen deep into the crochet rabbit hole, it only seemed natural that I was completely intrigued and enamored with Curio from the moment our samples arrived at the office. And although it was a big departure from my usual size H or I hook, I decided to dedicated myself to Curio and a 1.5mm crochet hook for an entire weekend. Curio in the color, Lichen |

In honor of KP Crochet’s launch, the Knit Picks staff is taking this week to focus on all our favorite, hook-tastic products and projects. When I began working at Knit Picks, I was fascinated by the way people would knit during office meetings; their focus so smoothly divided, yet free! Now, nearly two years later, there’s something a little different about our meetings: At any given time, about half the staff whips out crochet projects (yours truly included). Granny stripe blankets, cotton thread lacework, crochet toys, cowls, slippers and shawls—it’s basically a bonanza. |

There is a lot to be said for simplicity: crisp hem and small gauge goes a long way in basic knitwear. The Light Basics collection features six sophisticated, classic designs that you can wear as staple, go-to garments, or modify with your favorite stitch or color patterns using the included knitting graph paper. Each of the garments is designed to be used with any fingering weight yarn, and can be worn separately or together. |

Our new colors of Imagination are now available! We have four new shades: Galactic, Treasure, Magic Wand, and Atlantis. Atlantis is definitely my favorite with its rich blue-greens and the bright shot of red as an accent. When the samples arrived at our office, I grabbed two skeins and got to work on a Mother's Day present for my mom, Marilyn. I can finally show you pictures without ruining the surprise! |

Way back when I first started knitting toys, I was always disappointed in my embroidery skills, especially when it came to their eyes. For instance, about 6 years ago, I made a couple of the Mochimochi Knitted Grass guys by Anna Hrachovec. While I like them, they just didn't quite have that cute look I love with knitted and crochet toys. Their eyes are uneven and no matter how much I tried, I could not get it to come out right. They just look all wonky to me. Then I discovered safety eyes! Not only did they save me from my unsuccessful attempts at embroidery, they gave my Grass Guy a little sparkle in the eye that just made him so much more adorable. |
