Have you used knitting and crochet to get you through a hard time in your life? Were you stuck in the hospital and had a feeling that crafting, in some way, helped to get you through your stay? We're working on an upcoming podcast called "Doctor! Doctor!" about how knitting and crochet can help to get you through hard times. We'd love to hear your story! We would also love to hear from Doctors who knit or crochet. Do you think your skills with math and science make you a particularly good knitter? Hudson's Bay stripes are an absolute classic, known as much for being hard-wearing as they are beautiful. This dishcloth celebrates the spirit of modern simplicity with stockinette stitch in four colors of "Dishie" yarn. Make this dishcloth as written, or extend the off-white color "swan" to a longer length, repeat the stripes, and make a lovely hand towel! |

Participating in the 52 Weeks of Dishcloths has been an adventure. Trying new stitch patterns on a small scale fits with my crazy, busy life. I decided that a spa cloth, with a lacy pattern, would be fun to try using Dishie. |

Knitting and baseball - my two favorite things! Last week I got to attend the annual Seattle Mariner's Stitch n' Pitch. This event was first started by the Mariners 10 years ago and now many major & minor league teams around the country hold their own SnP nights! It's a lot of fun, even if you are not a huge baseball fan - Safeco Field, home of the Mariners, opens up their top deck area for yarn booths and other goodies and it's so much fun to see (and buy) so much pretty yarn. |

Did you learn to knit at school? Many schools, like Waldorf, include knitting as part of the curriculum. When I worked in a yarn shoppe in England, almost all of the older ladies that would come in had learned to knit in school.
