It's my favorite time of the year - the start of baseball season! It's that magical time when, no matter how badly your team did last year, it's a fresh start for everyone - new faces, new plays, new records to break - and for my fellow baseball knitters, a new Crackerjack to start! Last year I wrote about my Mariners Crackerjack scarf - a very fun pattern that follows a baseball team through the year, adding a different stripe after every game, depending on whether they won or loss. While the pattern is infinity scarf, I chose to do mine as a regular scarf, since I wear those more. And I kept with it throughout the ups & downs of the season and finished on the very last day of the regular season (heartbreaking, since the boys were thisclose to making it to the post season). |

Our book sale is here again! With 40% all titles, it's really hard to pass up the opportunity to browse new titles, or add a book you've been eyeing for while, to your shopping cart. Alison's sea creatures have been eliciting such a great reaction both online and in the office, that I thought I'd present some of our favorite books for knitted and crocheted toys and dolls. Have a look! You might just see something (someone?) you just have to make. |

Oh, Preciosa! I have not seen my coworkers squeal in such unison as they did when this yarn arrived in the office. Its single ply softness makes it an absolute JOY to craft with, and its gorgeous colors make your imagination (as well as your project queue) go wild. The greatest thing that happened when our staff grabbed some skeins: they cast on for such a diverse range of projects. From sweaters to stuffed animals, check out what we made! |

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we've come up with a bunch of links for you to create your very own "Celtic Chill Zone" - a place to knit fancy cables, sip a delicious beverage, and listen to the sounds of waves upon a rocky shore (or U2, whichever you prefer). Move over, bleach and ammonia - a new cleaning superhero is in town! May I introduce essential oils, nature's affordable, eco-friendly, and just as effective (if not more) alternative to store bought cleaners. For the last year, we've been featuring a free dishcloth pattern every week, so I thought it would be fun to explore natural cleaners to use with your dishcloths. Not only are conventional cleaners expensive, they can also be hazardous to your health and the environment. Using essential oils to create your own cleaning spray is safe for your family's health and phenomenal at eradicating salmonella, e.coli, MRSA, pneumonia and a slew of other insidious little nasties (source). This spray is perfect for cleaning hard surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Let's get started! |
