In June, I asked for your nominations for Felici Favorites, your all time favorite colorways of our Felici self-striping yarn. I was overwhelemed by the number of responses I got!! It took a long time to look through all the comments here and in the KP Lovers Group on Ravelry (Ravelry link), but based on your suggestions and our sales data for Felici, we narrowed it down to 9 colors and placed our order. And now they're here!! Thank you so much for helping us make this tough decision. |

Since finishing my first real colorwork project (the Grab a Pint Mitts I wrote about awhile back), I've been wanting to get more & more into colorwork. Well, lo & behold, Melissa Leapman is putting out a brand new book called Mastering Color Knitting! Perfect timing right? There are some neat patterns included - I really like this scarf included in the double knit reversable section |

I was walzing through a yarn shop a few months ago, and I called my mom to ask if there was anything I hadn't knit for her yet. She reminded me of the tams we used to wear all the time (I say 'we' but I really mean 'they were hers and I destroyed them') and how she wished she had one again. It had been a looooong time since she'd seen one in a store. So, I said, "I'll see what I can do." I picked up some yarn and got to thinking. My mom's favorite garden flowers are impatiens. So, I figured an impatien-like design would be nice. Leaves make a pretty good crown - yeah, that'll work. And a few days later, I brought the result into the office: Immediately, I was descended upon by Chroma-bearing coworkers saying "THIS MUST BE A PATTERN!" |

Since my Beer Pint Mitts, I've been on a SpillyJane pattern kick. I made these for my niece for Christmas: Made in Stroll Tonal Blue Violet and a bunch of scraps But honestly, they took me awhile - mainly because once I finished with the bodies I had something like a billion ends to weave in. So I threw them in a corner until I was ready to face them. I mean I love how cute the colorwork mittens turn out but...the ends... Enter Chroma. We got our early shipment in and all of us were instantly in love - I had so many ideas of things I want to make! But I ended up deciding on another SpillyJane pattern...and this went much quicker Rainbow Fishies! |
