Yarn Elections 2012!

Polls are closed!  We’ll announce the winning candidate on Monday Nov 12- along with the winners of our fabulous prizes!

Well everyone, it’s officially November—do you feel a need to exercise your civil duty as a fiber crafter? Your time is now:  Knit Picks is pleased to announce “Yarn Elections 2012”, a chance for you to make your opinions heard with the added value of potential prizes!

Vying for your vote and devoted affections are two worthy contenders:

Candidate Wool Yarn, who promises a sheepy future of warmth and durability:

And Candidate Cotton Yarn, who believes in machine-washable knits for all:

Here’s how to cast your vote:
1.)    Leave a comment on this blog post. Be sure to specify which fiber is getting your vote!
2.)    Go to the Knit Picks Facebook page where we’ll be posting plenty of material in support of both fibers; to cast your official vote, share an image or video related to the candidate of your choosing. The fiber that ultimately gets the most Facebook “shares” will be declared the victor.

After the polls are closed and the results are in, we’ll randomly select two winners from the comments section of this blog post—one stunning grand prize for a supporter of the winning yarn candidate, as well as a runner-up prize for a supporter of the defeated nominee.

We wish you luck with this weighty decision. And happy voting!

Official rules:  One entry per person. Must have a US or Canada mailing address. No purchase necessary. All comments must be posted on THIS blog post. Comments on other blog posts or on Facebook/Twitter will not be valid for this contest. We will close the comments November 8th; winners will be announced on November 12th!
