Slouchy Hat Madness

The past few months I’ve pretty much just working on projects for other people & last week I decided I needed to do something quick for myself…which turned into 2 quick projects, which turned into 3! All were slouchy hats – I think I may need an intervention! 🙂

First was Ysolda Teague’s Ripley pattern (Ravelry link)

Took just a little bit over one hank of Swish Bulky in Garnet Heather. Man, this yarn is so soft & fun to knit with. I changed up the pattern a bit – I did just a regular 2×2 rib band instead of the band called for in the pattern…mostly out of laziness. I went down to a size 8 needle & I’m very pleased with the fit…not to mention the warmth!

Then I had some leftover Gloss HW in Jade from a scarf for my guy’s mom & decided I needed another pretty hat.

This is a new pattern from the lovely & talented Kate Oatesthe Dindy Beret I loved this pattern – especially the decreases ending with a bobble on top!

This took less than a skein of Gloss HW – which to be honest, is my favorite yarn of ours to work with.

Finally, I had some more Swish Bulky & decided I needed another Ripley

I also chopped off all my hair in between hats 🙂 This one I actually did the band called for in the pattern & I do like it much more than a usual 2×2 rib – it fits snugger & doesn’t get all stretched out.

I have a few more not-for-me projects to finish up this week, then I’m excited to get back to my poor hibernating Calluna Cardigan. I realized it’s been over a year since I finished a sweater & I really miss it! <
