Meet Daniel!

We have recently had some staff changes here at the Knit Picks office. It took a few months to find just the right person, but we are happy to introduce. . .me!

I’m Daniel, and I am the new Administrative Assistant for Knit Picks. I’ll be around to do the fiddly, little things that no one else has the time (or inclination) for. In addition, I am the new Coordinator for our Independent Designer Partnership Program, so if you are one of our Independent Designers (or would like to be!) you’ll be working with me.

The Monthly Yarn Sale – Biggo!

biggo-photo

I’m so excited for our Sale of the Month! This month, it’s our super-soft, washable bulky yarn Biggo, on sale for just $6.79 a hank! For me, Biggo is one of my favorite yarns because it’s so soft and big, PLUS it’s machine-washable, so it’s really great for sweaters and home decor. The 2-ply construction and the 50% nylon content mean it’s very durable too. And I have to admit that I love all the heather colors-they just give a project that extra something that really makes it special.

New yarn alert: Super Tuff Puff!

Jumbo Yarn - Super Tuff Puff from knitpicks.com

Oversized knit and crochet projects are showing up everywhere lately – huge arm-knitted blankets, chunky ottomans, garter stitch pillows, you name it. I absolutely love the dramatic impact of these home décor accessories, but I absolutely do not love the usual price tag associated with extra-heavy supersized projects. I have also tried to make some of the jumbo-gauge projects I’ve seen on Ravelry using multiple strands of worsted weight or bulky weight yarn, but the look isn’t quite the same as those gorgeous pictures I see on Pinterest.
