Read more »Another massive blanket is done, and I am so happy with it! My first foray into chevron stripes, I sought to capture the soothing calm of oceanic waves with gradations of Brava blues. A most affordable and comfy trip to the Mediterranean! 🙂
Well, Round 1 is complete! In the most heated battle, Wool of the Andes vs Palette, there were less than 40 votes between the winner and loser! But WoTA reigned supreme with 52% of the votes. The other battles were fairly decisive with Capra (70% of the votes), Wool of the Andes Bulky (63% of the votes) and Alpaca Cloud (74% of the votes) all coming out on top and moving on. Read more »This week’s design for our 52 Weeks of Dishcloths is the Sloped Lines Dishcloth! When I started digging through stitch patterns for my design, I knew that I wanted to stick to crochet for this week. I just love the texture and unique lines that crochet stitches are able to bring to life. And I just couldn’t resist the meandering lines that hug the small clusters of double crochets.

Read more »I’m so glad that I finally get to talk about one of my favorite collections to date – Worsted Basics! I love working with worsted yarn and it’s a delight to be able to find a whole collection of projects in the same weight in one place. The projects are fantastic which made it easy to take some gorgeous photos of them on location at a house in the lovely Forest Park area. I love those deep, dark woods and we were able to take advantage of lovely scenery between rain showers by ducking into the cute house for a few projects.

I also prefer ones I can work on when doing other things like reading or watching TV so they need to be easy enough I don’t have to keep referring to the pattern. I’ve always leaned toward texture, and this time was no different! It’s a combination of simple stitches that creates wonderful texture and delicious color.
