Introducing Little Luxuries!

We all have that one special skein of yarn that’s waiting for the perfect pattern, and now our new collection, Little Luxuries,  gives you twenty-three patterns! Each pattern uses 100 grams or less of yarn to create exquisite accessories, like shawls, cowls, hats, and even a clutch purse.

One of my favorite projects is the cover pattern, the Meandering Lace Shawlette, knit in Diadem Fingering in the colorway Gold. I just love the contrast of the rustic texture of the garter body and the unique lacy cable edging. The modified triangle shape drapes wonderfully over your shoulders or wrapped around your neck.

Another one I really like is the Honeycomb Hat. I love how the stitch pattern looks almost embossed because of how three dimensional the little honeycomb shapes are. Paragon is one of my favorite yarns because it’s a beautiful balance of springy wool and drapy silk and baby alpaca, and the twist is just perfect. Plus it’s our monthly yarn sale selection in February, so it’s 20% off!

If you’re looking for a gorgeous heirloom-quality project, the Nancy Shawl is absolutely stunning! Knit with 2 skeins of Alpaca Cloud Lace, I love the unique semi-circle shape with a little extra curl at the end. The asymmetrical lace section is finished with a pretty pointed lace border, with your choice to make the border wider or slimmer. The deep teal of Hugh shows off the stitch pattern beautifully, and beads can be added for a little extra shimmer.

Finally, if you’re looking for a project that will transition between seasons, the Oblique Cabled Mitts are just the ticket! Using just one hank of Gloss Fingering, these fingerless mitts have an interesting construction- they’re worked flat, diagonally, so that the entwined cable across the back is slanted in a distinctive way, and then sewn together, with the cuffs picked up afterwards. Available in three sizes, these mitts will be great for keeping your hands warm. The silk/merino wool blend of Gloss has a superb shine and strength from the silk and softness from the merino.

So gather up your most precious skeins and grab of copy of Little Luxuries!

I love that all these can be done with 1 skein of wool. I definitely have some single skeins in my stash I haven’t been able to use yet. Thanks for sharing!
