Today we continue our Toy Extras Series, where we suggest free patterns already on the Knit Picks site, to make with the toys in our new books Cute, Cuter, Cutest: Toys to Love in 3 Sizes. Out of all the friends in the knit collection, the Human Beans are my favorite. They're the kind of dolls I love - simple to make and easy to customize. I'd like to make a few different ones, with funny mouths and eyebrows in duplicate stitch, noses made with safety eyes, of different sizes, on each one. I'd make simple clothes for all of them, and I'd probably make my own patterns. For this cable sweater, however, I don't have to! |

"It's like knitting a kitten!" - these are just one of the many comments you'll find from crafters on Ravelry professing their love for Andean Treasure. And it is true! Andean Treasure is easily one of the softest yarns with a plush, squish-ability that you just can't get enough of. Andean Treasure is 100% baby alpaca, which means it's the softest and finest classification of alpaca fiber. If you haven't tried Andean Treasure yet, we've put together a handful of free patterns (including knit and crochet!) that just might tempt you to add a ball...or two...or three. 1. We are so excited about our new toy collections!! Cute, Cuter, Cutest: Toys to Love in 3 Sizes feature either knit or crochet toys in different weight yarns, so that you can craft little (or not so little) toys for young (or not so young) toy lovers in your life. For the next 4 weeks on the blog, we're going to feature some cute add-on patterns that might be adorable when made with (or rather, for, ahem) these toys. What stuffed knit toy doesn't need a toy to play with, right? |

This week's free dishcloth pattern is Allyson Dykhuizen's Bung Gudneau and it has a great little addition - a hanging loop! Such a fun idea and so handy. |

Say hello to your favorite new blanket - easy enough for even the most timid beginners while more experienced crafters will enjoy the meditative repetition (perfect for netflix marathons)! This super easy pattern uses simple stitches to make a bold impact with large, modern stripes. And taking cues from all of the knitters and crocheters here at Knit Picks, we decided to make two versions - knit and crochet - that each shine with undeniable beauty while highlighting the essence of each craft. |

Marjorie Dussaud has created this week's handsome free dishcloth pattern: the Bicolor Tweed Dishcloth. I'm smitten with this combination of stripes and textured slip stitches, perfect for rugged session of dish-duty! Dussaud notes that this pattern is great for beginners because it's an easy stitch repeat for a big effect. I have this particular pattern ear-marked as a quick stash busting project, ideal for featuring striped sections of yarn from previous projects! |

We are officially a quarter of the way through our 52 Weeks of Dishcloths program! Have you been following along this year for 2015? We are so excited to have some of our favorite independent designers create these fun freebie patterns for us. This week's free pattern, Granny's Rainbow Dishcloth, comes from designer Beth Major - she designed a classic granny square with a colorful rainbow twist that works up quickly and is great for using up those yarn odds and ends. It's also a great pattern if you are new crochet and want some instant gratification. |

We've had such fun in our blog series "Dishcloth Remix", where we've re-purposed our popular 2014 dishcloths, available in our book 52 Weeks of Dishcloths: A Knit Picks Kitchen Spectacular. We've made a coaster and trivet set, a rug, a pencil or accessories bag, and a bread cloth. In our final installment in the series, we turned Emily's Some Pig and Bear With Me dishcloths into an adorable shoulder bag perfect for your wallet and keys, or your crafting projects! To make the bag, we knit up the Pig Dishcloth |
