Surprise! It’s the end of September. Well, technically that’s not the surprise, although I will say that time has almost no meaning at this point (2020, amiright?) so, YES. We’ve arrived at the last installment of our 12 Weeks of Gifting series. This week’s free pattern, the Birdseye Kitchen Set, will come in handy for your post-holiday cleanup. Knit in Dishie yarns, the Birdseye set is a fun and easy knit. The textured body is accented by bands of color and includes instructions for both a hand towel and dishcloth. Here we are, the second to last week in our annual free pattern series, 12 Weeks of Gifting. We’re soooo close to the end of our 12 Weeks of Gifting series, and the knits are getting bulkier by the week. With the idea of creating quick gifts for those remaining folks on your lists (or for just for you!), our remaining patterns will be ones that should take no more* than a weekend. *in theory (wink) The mercury is dropping steadily for those of us north of the 45th parallel, which has us seeking the warmth and comfort of a squishy oversized hat, much like the Swoop Beanie. This week’s free 12 Weeks of Gifting pattern is a fun + playful project features a brilliant checkerboard of bright colors! The Dotty Cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up. It begins and ends with a reverse stockinette band, knit from the wrong side (no purling on the bands). The Dotty Stitch Pattern is a simple slip-stitch pattern which is enhanced by the effortless color transitions of Chroma Worsted. Only one color is used per round, making this a very relaxing knit. There is enough yardage with Chroma Worsted for two cowls; one for you and one for a friend. |

We’re over halfway through our 12 Weeks of Gifting series, and from here on out the patterns will be requiring less and less time to complete (in theory). As a person who is constantly striving to contain every aspect of her life in an organized fashion, I find that I can never have enough baskets, bowls, boxes, etc. This quaint trio of coordinating bowls makes the perfect storage solution for the many bibs & bobs we crafters tend to collect! It’s week 6 in our 12 Weeks of Gifting series and this week we’re swooning over the subtly shifting colors of the Brindle & Blend Shawl. Knit from end to end on the bias in tried-and-true Hawthorne Multi yarns, the pattern includes two different bind off options. This shawl incorporates subtle blending of brindled stripes along its length, creating a wide and colorful shawl.
