Best IDP Knitting Patterns

Our Independent Designer Partnership (IDP) program started in 2009 as a way to introduce our customers to independently produced patterns as well as to give independent designers a way to reach new audiences through our website, and we can not understate how great the knitting patterns that were added through the IDP program were this year! From viral colorwork socks inspired by a beloved computer game to approachable, textured fingerless mitts, our most popular IDP patterns from this year span across all skill levels and styles!

Stardew Valley Bundle by Kim Ramirez

Knit all 4 Stardew Valley seasons: Spring (The Valley Comes Alive), Summer (The Sun Can Bend an Orange Sky), Fall (The Smell of Mushrooms), and Winter (The Wind Can Be Still). All socks are knit cuff-down and each pattern includes 4 sizes. In each pattern, there is stranded colorwork all over the leg and foot, a short row heel, and a toe finished with grafting.

Stretchy Fingerless Gloves by Alnaar Harnish

Looking for a cozy and stylish accessory to add to your winter wardrobe? Look no further than these stretch knit fingerless gloves! They are crafted with broken rib stitch and worsted weight yarn, making them the perfect set to gift or wear together. The stretchy knit fabric ensures a snug and comfortable fit, and the fingerless design means that you can wear these gloves all day long without having to take them off.

Carving Good Time by Ash Christine

Invite all the cozy autumn vibes with this fun colorwork beanie. Adorned with all things pumpkins, this beanie was made to wear to your local pumpkin patch and fall festival. Featuring a simple jack-o-lantern motif paired with intuitive chevrons, this is the perfect project to whip up over a chilly weekend!

Joining Bees & Things by Mona Richardson

You’ll buzz with delight in this cardigan! A top-down, circular-yoke cardigan, this pattern uses classic construction and features a front steek. Stitches are cast on for the rib neckline (worked flat), then short rows are worked for neck shaping. The neck is joined in the round, and the yoke chart worked for chosen size.

Simply Irresistible Socks – Mohair by Christie Archer

This pattern is like magic! The front/top panel bends with the ankle and the back side stretches with the heel, no matter how high of an instep you have. This mohair version is great as a house sock, or worn in roomy boots. They will keep your feet toasty when the air is chilly.  (But honestly, who want’s to cover these beauties with boots anyway?)

Little Forest Friends by Emily Kintigh

This adorable set of forest friends includes a bunny, squirrel, bear, fox and a girl. Each critter has a set of matching overalls and a dress featuring different stitch pattern details. Designed to use Animation yarn packs, the whole set can be knit with one pack. The pattern also includes a photo tutorial for adding the hair to the doll.
