Meet Morgan, New Digital Graphic Designer

Hey everybody! My name is Morgan, and I am incredibly excited to be joining the Knit Picks team as the digital graphic designer. You want emails? I got you. You want web graphics? Coming right up. You want snacks? Go get some! (I haven’t figured out how to deliver those digitally yet. But if I could, I promise I would. The first thing you should know about me is that I love snacks.)

I’m originally from Colorado, but moved to Oregon about 5 years ago. I have loved being out here, and I feel incredibly lucky to call such a neat place home. I have an Australian Shepherd named Roo, and I am quite fond of the little fluff ball. Look at her. Look at this cutie.

The second picture is her wearing a scarf I made her. As you can see, she was not impressed. She is also a very good companion on bike trips.

Exhibit A:

Trip to the dunes! She tried to eat sand?

Other things I like include: reading, napping, coming up with jokes that are as corny as possible, and drawing! I’ve been really into using only brush pens and sharpies lately. It’s a fun challenge to figure out how to make something work only using ink.

Now let’s talk about KNITTING! I just started learning about a year ago. I’ve made a few unrecognizable balls of knots, some scarves, a couple of hats, dishcloths, and I just finished my very first sock! Now I just have to finish the second one … but we don’t need to talk about that right now. It will happen. Someday.

Knitting has been such a game changer for me. As a designer, I’m on the computer a lot. I spend a lot of time making things for the digital world, but I don’t often get to make things that I can hold and use in my day-to-day life. With knitting, I can snuggle, wear, and love the heck out of everything I make. That is such a rewarding feeling, and one that I’ve come to cherish very much. I never knew how attached I could be to a dishcloth.

I’m so, so dang excited to be a part of this team! Next time you get a Knit Picks email, I hope it brings a smile to your face and some yarn to your stash.

See you on the internet! Bye!

P.S. Please tell me your favorite jokes. Thank you.

Love your ink work! I’m impressed with your knitting, as I have been teaching myself and haven’t even finished a 6 month old scarf project, yet…LOL. Try your hand at crocheting, It’s fun to have multiple skills with yarn, because then you have to have more yarn! Can’t wait to see your matched pair of socks, someday 😉
