12 Weeks of Gifting: Continuation Blanket
Knit Picks 12 Weeks of Gifting Patterns, featuring the Continuation Blanket. Image shows: a knitted blanket draped on a bed. The blanket gradates from magenta, to purple, to blue, along the diagonal.

Week 6 in our 12 Weeks of Gifting series is here! This weeks’ pattern, the Continuation Blanket, is an easy-to-knit project that allows you to experiment with color pairings in a fun way.

Designed by Holli Yeoh, the seven blended hues of this blanket are created by combining just three colors, resulting in a simple but effective gradient blanket. Working up fast with chunky needles, it makes a great baby gift; and in a cozy washable wool blend, it will last long enough to be passed down to the next baby.

Holding three strands together, switch out one at a time to generate the smooth continuous color shift from corner to corner. The blanket is worked in Garter Stitch on the bias.
