I’ve had some serious stash busting to do since I ordered 11 balls of Brava Sport this week for a rather large, pretty blanket that I’ve been dreaming about for some time. However, 11 balls of Brava will take up some serious real estate on my already cramped yarn shelves, so while I wait for my package to arrive I’m busy trying to make room for it all!
I’ve had a few skeins of Stroll Tonal in Blue Yonder and Stroll Hand Painted in Lullaby nestled together in a basket in my living room for a few weeks now, just waiting for a project to come along and inspire me to pick up those size 4 needles again. Well, now I need the basket and I found the perfect project: the Tempest cardigan by Ann Weaver.
I love the stripes, 3/4 length sleeves and the light weight fabric in
this pattern but I especially like that I can use multi color yarn to
spice things up. I was a little worried that Lullaby and Blue Yonder
wouldn’t have enough contrast to make the stripes really pop, but now
that I’m done with the body of the sweater I can definitely see each and
every stripe. I can’t wait to wear it later this summer when the nights
start to get a little cooler and I’ll want a light cardigan to put over
my summer dresses!
I love working with both of these stroll
colorways. Each stitch is a slightly different color from the last and
each row is a little, colorful surprise. My favorite colors are the
tealy-greens that pop up every once in a while in Blue Yonder.
Now, all I have to do is finish this little beauty before my package comes!
