(photo from Knitty Gritty Whistler, pattern is #31 Turban by Lola Ehrlich)
I like to start my day on Pinterest while I drink my first couple of cups of coffee. I love the creative inspiration I find as I look through the photos. A few days ago I saw this turban and thought maybe I could knit something like it for myself. So, I went to Ravelry and typed in “Turban”.
This is the first pattern that caught my eye. It’s the Gypsy Turban designed by Amanda Steves.
As I scrolled through photos, I found a couple of projects that weren’t “true” turbans. I love the elegance of the Parisian Twist by Elisa McLaughlin.
And, just look at Anthro Styled Plaited Headwrap by Melynda Bernardi. Of course, I’m going to love anything related to Anthropologie.
As I looked through “turbans”, I realized that “headbands” could also be a good search term. Even though we are spending our winters in Mexico, it actually gets pretty darn cold down here during November, December and January. Particularly at night. Wearing a winter hat would look a bit strange but I also know how importand it is to keep my head and ears warm. What about dressy, knit headbands?.
Something simple like It’s a Cinch designed by Elisa McLaughlin. Or, her Bohemian Cinch.
I could even get a bit more dressy with the Bow Peep headband designed by Audrey Wilson.
Or, image Eileen Vito’s Windy City headband with a super flashy button in the center of the flower! Just a bit ’20s flapper!
