New Dyed-to-Match Buttons

Attention sweater and garment knitters – we have some news that you are going to LOVE! We literally searched the world over to bring you these gorgeous custom buttons, hand-dyed to match our Wool of the Andes, Palette, and Swish yarns. Each button is formed from the corozu nut – also known as tagua – a durable, sustainable product that is scratch resistant and has an elegant natural grain.

To create these buttons, we went straight to the source for our color palette: our best selling yarns. We selected our most popular colors (l-r Dove Heather, Blossom Heather, Wonderland Heather, Sapphire/Marine Heather, Indigo Heather, Garnet Heather, and Forest Heater) across our three most popular yarns for garment knitting: Wool of the Andes, Palette, and Swish. We sent yarn samples to One World Buttons, who created a custom color to match each yarn.

These beautifully dyed buttons are dry cleanable and hand washable. As you can see in the above image, there is a lovely natural grain to the buttons that brings an amazing depth of color to garments such as the cabled Brigid Cardigan in Dove Heather Swish yarn.

Our custom dyed buttons will add the perfect finishing touch to your next sweater project. They really elevate the look of a simple stockinette stitch sweater, shown here in Blossom Heather Wool of the Andes yarn.

We are just thrilled to be working with One World Button Supply, a company dedicated to providing training, services, and employment to marginalized populations from Armenia to Zimbabwe. Our dyed-to-match buttons are not just beautiful, they help to improve the lives of land mine disabled, sex trafficking victims, and displaced war refugees in developing countries. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but that link sends me to a page with the foursquare banner but no needles on the page!

This is entirely off topic……are you still selling the foursquare needles? I can’t find any anywhere?

I must confess, I was going to say that I appreciate you keeping us up to date on new products, but on a blog I would love to hear more about what staff members or even customers of Knitpicks are knitting…then you told us about the amazing source for the new buttons and their mission! I will totally shut up now! It brought tears to my eyes! Thank you for being such an amazing company with a real conscious!
