With so many people I know having babies recently, it’s hard to think of a unique knitted gift for them. Just in time, we have a brand new free pattern that’ll work perfectly – the Under the Sea Mobile by the super creative Allyson Dykhuizen!
These adorable little guys are wonderful for any new addition! Hang them above the crib and they can watch an octopus, squid, jellyfish, whale and fish float around. Included in the pattern are instructions on how to hang them perfectly
These creatures are great just as toys for your wee one too – or for yourself! Just leave off the hanging instructions.
While we used Palette for our version, the best thing about toys is you can almost any type of yarn. If you want to keep them small, try Comfy Fingering or go bigger with a worsted weight like Brava or Mighty Stitch (just go up a couple of needle sizes too!).
I think this guy is next on my to-knit list. Isn’t he cute? And I have the perfect person in mind for him!
