12 Weeks of Gifting – Free Checkerboard Throw Pattern

Oh it’s that time of year again, when we crafters start our list of handmade gifts to make for the people we love. (Unless you are much more organized than us and started months ago!) To get you started, we just launched our annual 12 Weeks of Gifting, where we release a brand new free pattern every Tuesday, counting down the days to mid December. We’ll be featuring all sorts of projects – from home to cowls and scarves to shawls – there is sure to be something for everyone on your list!  We have set up a handy 12 Weeks of Gifting page, so be sure check back every Tuesday to find a new free pattern.

To kick things off, we have the lovely Checkerboard Throw by Faith Schmidt.

Free Checkerboard Throw Pattern from knitpicks.com

A great gift for everyone, this fun and easy knit mixes garter, seed and stockinette stitches in a wonderfully textured throw. Since it uses the ultra cuddly Mighty Stitch Bulky, it’s machine washable & super soft – so it’s great for everything from a baby blanket to the center piece of a living room. And if you want a larger or smaller blanket, Faith makes it easy to resize, so it is truly a versatile project.

What will be the free pattern next week? Check back here next week and find out!
