Custard Pie Dishcloth

Custard Pie Free Dishcloth Pattern | Knit Picks
I adore patterns that gives the illusion of complexity, but are actually astoundingly simple. This easy shell stitch center creates a delectable, textured effect, snugly framed by a chunky border.

P.S. I must always be hungry when I make my dishcloths, because I just realized I name many of them after foods. Case in point: Fruity Loops Dishcloth, Sherbet Tunisian Dishcloth and now, Custard Pie Dishcloth. Just in case you were wondering what is on this lady’s mind 24/7: sugar & carbs. 🙂

Guys, row 1 of this pattern doesn’t make any sense. You end up with two chains left overt in your base row. Don’t you need to start with a multiple of four??

Hey Sarah! Sorry it didn’t work out for you! Multiple of 3 + 1 is what I did, and it worked for me. Also, if you need additional reference, you can google “crazy shell” stitch. Most of them are in multiples of 3, too. Hope that helps! 🙂

I love this pattern and can’t wait to try it, but I noticed the directions call for a size J (5mm) hook. A size H hook is 5mm; a size J hook is 6mm. I just want to make sure I’m using the right hook! 🙂

It is indeed a J – we’ve corrected the typo!
