We have recently had some staff changes here at the Knit Picks office. It took a few months to find just the right person, but we are happy to introduce. . .me! I’m Daniel, and I am the new Administrative Assistant for Knit Picks. I’ll be around to do the fiddly, little things that no one else has the time (or inclination) for. In addition, I am the new Coordinator for our Independent Designer Partnership Program, so if you are one of our Independent Designers (or would like to be!) you’ll be working with me. |

I am continually amazed at the creativity of knitters! From the pattern designers that turn our fiber into amazing projects for us to knit, to the crafters who create beautiful items with those designs, my breath is taken away daily. Since Halloween is just around the corner, I've rounded up a handful of my favorite Halloween knitting projects featuring Knit Picks yarns. Halloween Knitting Projects: Little Monster Vest |

Independent Designer Project Round Up Summer is definitely winding down... the days are shorter, the evenings a bit cooler, and the kids are back in school. Whether this makes you happy or sad, autumn is just around the corner. In preparation for the leaves turning colors and pumpkin-spice flavored everything, I thought I'd do a little round up of season shifting knit projects from Independent Designers to help us transition from lazy summer days to crisp fall nights. |

Since I bring my lunch to work everyday, I was particularly excited when designer Faith Schmidt showed me her idea for a knitted lunch bag pattern, as an alternative to a boring brown bag. It was perfect - small enough to carry around comfortably but large enough to hold my lunch. And now we have it available for you for free - check out the Lovely Lunch Bag! |

Fabulous knit and crochet projects for summer fun! I think it's safe to say that summer has arrived! Now that our sweaters have been packed away and we're enjoying the sunshine, it's time to pull out your summer knitting projects. Here are a few fabulous projects I'm hoping to cast on soon. Summer Knitting Projects: Oyster Bay Tank I just love this Oyster Bay tank top! It's knit in our fabulous lightweight linen Lindy Chain, which gives it an amazing drape and sheen. The simple diamond pattern along the sides make the perfect accent to this summer top. Designed by Kathryn Folkerth. |

Happy Earth Day! Around here, many of us are taking part in various activities around in our area and we hope you will be doing the same. But reducing our impact on the environment happens year round - and we have a few projects that can help! First of all - dishcloths! Using dishcloths rather than disposable products creates less waste for our landfills. We have over 100 free patterns, in both knit and crochet for you to enjoy - including one with a nifty recycle symbol - The Three R's Dishcloth! |

Spring is most definitely in the air! It's time to put away our sweaters and chunky scarves and bring out our lighter wardrobes. For all of us fiber lovers, that means it's time for a fun new spring yarn project! Or two... or three... Let's start with this fabulous Mesa Wrap, designed by Chelsea Berkompas. It's a light and airy summer wrap with sections of mesh lace and a distinct striping pattern shaped by simple short rows. Knit in Lindy Chain, this wrap has a wonderful drape and sheen. |
