Contest is over! We’ll draw a winner on 3/12!
I have been so happy the past few weeks – one of my favorite designers, Toni Carr, released her new book – Knits for Nerds!
I’ve known about this book for awhile & have been so very excited. See, I’m a nerd so this hits me right at the sweet spot.
There are so many patterns I want to make from this. Toni‘s Aim to Misbehave Brown Jacket (inspired by the tv show Firefly) is probably my top favorite. It’s even knit up in Simply Cotton Sport!
Plus there are patterns from IDP designers like Laura Hohman (Tank Girl Socks!) and Rilana Riley-Munson (Summer Queen Shawl, which uses Comfy Fingering)
I have 2 extra copies of Knits for Nerds and thought, why not have another blog contest & hear from other nerds! Leave a comment on this blog, telling me your nerdiest love and why – it can be movies, tv shows, books, graphic novels, games, whatever! I love hearing about what other fans like!
I’ll even share one of my (many) nerdy loves – I’m a big fan of the Harry Potter series (books; I’m not as fond of the movies) – I’ve read & listened to the entire series several times & love to even read all the critical studies on the books. I worked at a bookstore/cafe during the entire time the books were being released – in fact, I started right when the first 2 books were released in the US and my last day was about a month after the last book came out. So during that time, I planned all the release parties & one year (I think it was the 6th book), several members of the staff dressed as their favorite characters. I went as Luna Lovegood, complete with a knitted Ravenclaw beret and silvery capelet!
So now tell me about yours! Are you a Trekkie? Do you wear a (very cunning) Jayne Hat with pride? Do you absolutely adore everything that Neil Gaiman has written? Have you knitted an entire Wookie costume? Tell me in the comments below & I’ll randomly pick 2 winners on Monday March 12th to win a copy of the book!
Rules: One entry per person. Must have a US or Canada mailing address. No purchase necessary. All comments must be posted on THIS blog post. Comments on other blog posts or on Facebook/Twitter will not be valid for this contest. We will close the comments March 12th and draw the winners then!
