Welcome to our new “From the desk of…” series – this month, we will be featuring a handful of designers from our new fall pattern collection, Burnished. We’ll get a tiny glimpse into their world of knitting pattern design, learn about their process and techniques.First up is the talented Tabetha Hedrick!
design inspiration: Roe Cardigan was definitely inspired by a particular cable stitch pattern that I came across in my research. I knew it needed to be a major feature, without being overwhelming. I love the result: a silhouette that highlights the cables from every angle, while remaining super comfy and relaxed.
must-have workspace tools: Pens!!! I am quite obsessed with them and buy them in numerous colors, widths, and textures. They are used for notes, drawing, color-coding, and anything else I can think of regardless of what I am working on.
absolute favorite fiber: Gosh, this is a hard one … I love Merino with a hint of silk or cashmere, but my rebel side is drawn to the luscious, yet rarely used fibers such as Corriedale and Bluefaced Leicester.
current color crush: I’m usually all about the deep purples and indigos, but right now, I’m a little obsessed with the neutral grays.
top down or bottom up: A lady never tells … haha! Ok, seriously, for socks, I vote for top down all the way, but I love bottom up, seamed sweaters the most.
