12 Weeks of Gifting – Kite Bunting

12 Weeks of Gifting is winding down – only 3 more weeks left, which rather fills me with terror that I have no holiday knitting done yet! If you’re like me and need a quick and cute project, you can’t go wrong with Week 9’s free pattern – Kite Bunting!

Free Kite Bunting Pattern from Knit Picks

Designed by the always wonderful Emily Kintigh, this project is a perfect gift to decorate a new baby’s room – or any other room in the house! Each kite is knit separately, with a tail and bows attached when complete. Then the kites are attached to a 7′ I-cord string. Each of these kites are super addicting to make so you don’t need to stop at the 6 we have in the pattern – just add another 12 inches to the I-cord for each additional kite. 1 skein of Palette will knit 6 kites but this pattern is great for stashbusting leftover fingering weight yarn – I know I have a bunch from socks – to create a cute colorful present that adds a bit of whimsy to any home. Or, in my case, my work cubicle!
