We’re coming down to the wire when it comes to holiday gifts – Christmas is only 2 weeks away! So, if you’re like me and scrambling to complete those last minute gifts on your list, I have a few suggestions for you, both big and small.
Bulky Yarn projects
When it comes to quick projects, bulky yarn is key. With bulky yarn and big needles or hooks, some of these can be made within a few hours. For instance, one pattern I’ve turned to several times is the adorable Mini Kitty Pouf.
Who wouldn’t want a giant kitty? Using a super bulky yarn such as Mighty Stitch Super Bulky, you can create a soft huggable kitty in no time flat, perfect for your six-year-old niece. Or go extra fancy by using The Big Cozy or Tuff Puff for your best cat loving friend!
As the temperature drops, there are few more welcome gifts than cozy cowls and hats to keep that bitter wind at bay. One of my favorites is Final Fluries, a cozy crochet hat & cowl set.
In general, crochet is much faster than knitting, and this beginner-friendly pattern is perfect for quick gifts. Choose your favorite color of Wonderfluff, and you’ll have that project for your cousin in Michigan in no time.
If you’re concerned about sizing, cushions and pillows are the way to go for those new homeowners on your gift list. A fun unique pattern is the Boccioni Pillow, which is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face when they see it.

Quick Small Projects
If you’re not super into bulky yarns but still want to create a handmade gift, there are a lot of smaller projects you can do, many of them with yarn you have in your very own stash!
