Knitting and baseball – my two favorite things! Last week I got to attend the annual Seattle Mariner’s Stitch n’ Pitch.
This event was first started by the Mariners 10 years ago and now many major & minor league teams around the country hold their own SnP nights! It’s a lot of fun, even if you are not a huge baseball fan – Safeco Field, home of the Mariners, opens up their top deck area for yarn booths and other goodies and it’s so much fun to see (and buy) so much pretty yarn.
Plus, if you get a SnP ticket, you get a free gift – this year was a pair of special Ms scissors (which I needed desperately, since I’m constantly losing mine.)
It was a lot of fun – I attended with fellow baseball nut and IDPer Melinda VerMeer. She worked on catching up on her Crackerjack during the game.
Our section even had visit from the Mariner’s Moose, who worked on a knitting project of his own.
It was a perfect night to watch baseball – the only downside was a Mariner’s loss.
Have you gone to a Stitch n’ Pitch? Tell me about yours in the comments!
