It’s always quite exciting around the office when we introduce a new yarn line! This time around, we are super stoked about the ultra squishy Tuff Puff.
Tuff Puff is a super bulky, single ply 100% wool yarn in bright cheerful colors. We love how quickly it works up in this works up for all sorts of projects – blankets, pillows, hats & scarves – even sweaters (stay tuned for a certain staff member’s project!) While not merino-soft, Tuff Puff has a cozy feel once knit up and given a soak in a wool wash (I love Soak personally).
Need some project ideas? Well, Emily has whipped up a free pattern for squishy hat that is sure to keep your noggin warm this winter.
This is the Ayre Hat – it works up quick on size 17 needles (I think Emily did hers in about an hour one afternoon). The reverse stockinette body gives it a great look and best of all – a big pom pom! You can choose to make yours with the same color yarn, or have fun with it and use our Full Circle Roving for a giant fur-like pompom.
You can also check out some of our patterns that feature The Big Cozy – we’ve had some great luck substituting Tuff Puff in those patterns. Something like Beth Marjor’s V-Stitch Bulky Cowl would look great crocheted up in bright Tuff Puff color.
