You may have seen that we have some new free patterns that just hit the site. I have to say, the models have me smitten. I would say that, though, they’re my babies!

This is Lulu. For her, smiling is essential and sleeping is optional. She’s just turned seven months old and looks pretty spiffy in her Bee Stitch Hat.

The pattern calls for Brava Bulky, but I might make a few of these in Billow, since both Jenny and Emily love that yarn so much.

The Scrunchy Booties she modeled were pretty cute, too. I’m dreaming of making some for her in City Tweed Aran in the colder months. Wouldn’t tiny tweed socks be the cutest? She’d need some tiny penny loafers to complete the look.

This is Penny. She’s 2. For her, sleep comes easy and park visits are a must. When I saw this Bouquet Poncho on her, I vowed to make one for each of her friends. What I like about the pattern is that it’s not so fitted, so I can make them for girls that vary in size a bit, and they’ll all look good. I’m not a big fan of cotton, but when I saw the sample in Shine Worsted, it was perfect! I’ll make ones in complimentary colors for all of the girls in her daycare group.

Oh…a baby in a pointy hat. Be still my heart.

This Lattice Bonnet suggests Shine Sport, but lately I’ve been working on a project in Comfy Sport, and wow, is it dreamy. Soft and easy on the hands, and you’ll never know it’s part acrylic. This hat would make a gift for a newborn or expectant mom, and there’s so many great colors in both yarns!

Thank you for indulging me as I show off my children once again. My kids have done some modeling before, but it was more for posterity than for heirloom photos I wanted to frame and hang on my wall. Our talented photographer Amy really captured some cuteness, and has unwittingly added to my knitting queue, too. Has she added to yours, too?
