Meet Kelly, our new Social Media Specialist

Hi all! I’m Kelly Fulop, and I’m thrilled and honored to be a part of the Digital Team here at Knit Picks! After settling into my position, I found myself hopping into something new, and am pleased to be the new Social Media Specialist for the Yarn Division. I am excited to see what we can create together!

Crafting and creating have been passions of mine since I could properly hold crayons as a bumbling toddler (thankfully my skills and hobbies have improved since then), and I am so excited that I get to be a part of this creative community.

I am a chronic skill collector and project starter. About 20 years ago I caught the yarn bug, and that was all she wrote. I bounced between crochet and knitting for several years before finally finding my groove. I spend most of my crafting time knitting now, but I have dabbled in sewing and consider myself an ambitious beginner quilter and garment maker. I enjoy hand embroidery and sketching, digital art and painting. I love baking, and would love to someday open a small bakery cafe.

I am a born-and-raised 4th generation Oregonian, and as such I feel at home in the damp greenery of the Pacific Northwest. I love dark, rainy, and dreary days the most, where I can build a fire in the wood stove and sip a cup of coffee snuggled up on the sofa. I love animals and have always had various animal companions. Our home is currently controlled by a senior dog (Gracie), a middle-aged Amazon parrot (Joy), and two rescue bunnies (Bunny and Clyde). There is never a dull day.

Home may be where my heart is, but my soul loves to travel. Whether the trip is domestic or international, I’m always ready to go on an adventure! I am incredibly thankful that I have been able to have such amazing experiences, from cave hikes in Greece to archaeological sites in Belize. I love to become immersed in other cultures and am grateful that I am able to do so.
