Does it seem like you never have enough reference books? It feels like that for me! My personal library is fully stocked but I am always looking for more – every book gives a slightly different look at different techniques. Also, books with stitch libraries are a must-have to spur on the imagination! I’m excited to show you several of my favorite new reference books that will be perfect for your library.
The Knitting Encyclopedia by Claire Montgomerie
Breeze through previously difficult techniques with step-by-step instructions, full-color photos and helpful diagrams. Then use the new skills you’ve learned with the simple, intermediate, and advanced projects provided in the book. The projects range from hats and scarves to a Fair Isle sweater or coat. I love the large, easy to read images in the technique sections.
Knitting Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Sharon Turner
This book gives you quick visual access to every stitch your heart desires, from simple to complex. 350 to be exact! Then learn how to
craft your own designs or modify existing patterns with ease. Each
stitch is accompanied by a full-color photo and diagram, as well as
helpful sidebars to guide you through the tricky parts.
Circular Knitting Workshop by Margaret Radcliffe
I’m not a fan of projects that have seams and I’m always looking for a way around them. This book will show you multiple ways to create projects
that are all knit in the round. Whether you go with one circular needle,
two circs at a time or opt for magic loop, this wonderful resource will
show you how to convert flat patterns to be knit circularly as well as
combining this technique with fair isle, tubular, and double knitting. There are 35 demonstration projects which are mini-versions of items. These small scale demonstration projects allow
you to follow through the techniques from start to finish without
investing time into a larger project that may take months to complete.
If you’re looking for more books to choose from, check out our reference section. We have it divided by Instructional and Stitch Library.
