Welcome to Week 12 of our Clean & Crafty Free Pattern series! This week’s pattern is for all those who want some practice knitting picots – check out the Picot Edge Dishcloth.
Picots are small loops that decorate the edges of knitted projects – for instance, the Hearts Abound Socks uses a picot bind off, while the cute Beaded Cupcake Hat includes them in the middle of the project. Ann Weaver takes you on a picot trip, giving you all sorts of practice with her dishcloth. Entirely knit in one piece, you’ll start with a variation of a Knitted Cast On and create your first row of picots, then continue them on every other row. Finally, you’ll get practice with a picot bind off. You’ll end up with a fun and charming dishcloth for any kitchen! If you haven’t done a knitted cast on before, check out our video for some practice.
