Welcome to Week 36 of our Clean & Crafty Free Pattern series! If you need to spruce up your lodge – or maybe just your kitchen – this fun pattern is for you. Check out the Deer Season Dishcloth!
This fun little dishcloth by Ann Weaver is has a unique twist – the background is knit in one piece, with seed stitch edging framing the stockinette stitch middle. But instead of using intarsia or other colorwork, it makes use of a handy technique – duplicate stitch! My intarsia skills are mediocre at best, so to make something like this (or one of the projects in Milestones & Memories), I usually just use duplicate stitch to create my masterpieces. Haven’t tried it? We have a tutorial that’ll get you started.
I find it a lot of fun – and this dishcloth is the perfect project to practice on.
