After months of planning, I can’t express how excited I am to share our new yarns with you! This was our biggest yarn launch to date. We completely updated the colors offered in our classic lines, like Wool of the Andes. We filled in holes in our Palette collection to get up to 100 colors! And we are now offering an ultra soft and luxurious cashmere and Merino blend called Capra!
Capra is 85% Merino wool and 15% cashmere. It feels incredibly soft in the skein and after you knit it up and wash it, you won’t want to take it off! It is my absolute favorite new yarn, and I’m already filling up my knitting queue with DK weight sweater to knit out of it.
To celebrate this lovely new yarn, we’re giving away Capra to knit one of my favorite new IDP sweaters, the Delancy Cardigan. I’ve been joking that I was going to steal the sweater (don’t worry Alexis–I really won’t) but I
definitely plan to knit my own (along with Alexis’ other sweater, the Bergen Street Cardigan). The great thing about so many of Alexis’ designs is that they are very classic, but with interesting details that make them fun to knit and stylish to wear. Click on the link to the Delancy Cardigan, and you can see more photos of the sweater–check out the stripes on the back!
Here is Angela and I trying on the kitten-soft Delancy Cardigan.
If you would like to knit your own Delancy cardigan out of Capra, please enter our contest! Leave a comment (and remember to fill out the email address field) to let us know which color you would like for the main color, and which color you are going to use for the contrasting stripe color. The sweater has finished bust measurements of 33 (36, 39, 42)”, so after I select a winner, I will send an email to ask which size are knitting. You have until Sunday August 8th to enter, and I will announce a winner on the Knit Picks Stash blog on Monday August 9th.
Good luck!
