In keeping with the theme of last week’s Race to Wrapped, this week’s video tutorial continues our exploration of cables! Since we focused on introducing simple cables and twists to new knitters last week, we thought it might be fun to do an entire series that shows off unique and interesting cables for more advanced knitters.
Check out part 1 of our Advanced Cabling Techniques video series, which shows you how to create multiple crossing cables! These unique cables have a three dimensional appearance that makes it look as though you are creating interlocking rings.
I think the look of multiple crossing cables adds so much interesting texture, and I instantly image a bulky scarf with one giant multi-cross cable running down the center. This particular cable is sure to add a lot of density to your project, so it will be extra warm and cozy! Remember to take extra care when incorporating this cable into projects, as Kerin mentions that all of the crossing cables will pull the fabric in dramatically.
If you’d like to follow along with Kerin in this video or just want to experiment with multiple crossing cables on your own, you can find the chart by clicking here. Check back to see what type of cabling is featured in our series of Advanced Cabling Techniques next week!
