One of the best things about TNNA for me was meeting all the wonderful designers I work with all the time - both in the IDP program as well as on other projects. I tried not to be all fangirly with designers I've loved even before I started working here but it was hard not to be starstruck. First up (once I remembered to start taking pictures) was one of the original IDP designers - David Castillo. |

A Knitter's Home Companion by Michelle Edwards is an absorbing combination of stories, patterns and recipes. Her trio of washcloths just begged to be knit with our new Dishie cotton yarn. |

Thank you to everyone who participated! This contest is now closed. To see who won, click here: Winners I haven't had a chance to do a contest for a while so when I heard that we had some weaving prizes to give away, you can imagine my excitement! Weaving is one of those crafts that I find immensely fascinating. I could watch someone weave all day long without blinking -- it's that intriguing. Uniformity, structure, and tight lines are so appealing to me so when I see a woven project, I am immediately drawn to it. I mean, look at this beautiful scarf! |

Well, lo & behold, Melissa Leapman is putting out a brand new book called Mastering Color Knitting! Perfect timing right? There are some neat patterns included - I really like this scarf included in the double knit reversable section |

I have been so excited about New England Knits since we first started seeing pictures from it and I finally got my very own copy! We're all pretty excited about it here - in fact Kate & I unknowingly both tweeted about how excited we were about it. I went to the coast this weekend & with the cool weather there, it was perfect time to thumb through it & think about all the lovely cardigans I want to make! And goodness, I think I want to make every single project in this book - something I haven't seen in a book for a very long time - well that doesn't include cute toys like Knitting Mochimochi! :) |
